10.ª Meia Maratona do Porto Sport Zone

A Invicta recebeu esta manhã, pela décima vez, a Meia Maratona do Porto Sport Zone, uma prova com um percurso plano e de uma beleza incomparável. O evento contou ainda com a Mini Maratona Santander Totta de 6k para todas as idades, sem fins competitivos. O tiro dado pelo ex-fundista queniano Paul Tergat deu início às provas, às 10h00, na Av. Paiva Couceiro (em baixo da Ponte do Freixo), terminando no Jardim do Cálem/Fluvial.

11.000 encheram e coloriram as marginais do Porto e de Vila Nova de Gaia para mais uma prova incontornável do calendário desportivo da cidade, do Norte e de Portugal.

Daniel Rotich do Uganda venceu a prova, cortando a meta com 1:00:59. Seguiram-se os quenianos Pius Maiyo Kirop, com 1:01:54, e Sammy Kurui, com 1:01:55. O pódio feminino foi conquistado pela japonesa Nao Isaka, com 1:12:12, seguindo-se a queniana Martha Akeno, com 1:13:16, e a portuguesa Filomena Costa a fechar o pódio com 1:13:27.

A décima edição da prova ficou marcada pela homenagem a Paulo Guerra, múltiplo campeão europeu de crosse e medalha de bronze no mundial da especialidade na edição de Belfast em 1999, um feito que poucos europeus alcançaram.

A 10.ª Meia Maratona do Porto Sport Zone é uma organização da Runporto e conta com o apoio da Sport Zone, da Câmara Municipal do Porto, da Câmara Municipal de Vila Nova de Gaia, da Porto Lazer, da Associação de Atletismo do Porto e do Conselho Regional de Arbitragem da AAP.
